Good Day for a Wind Turbine

Today is a wind generator day, not a solar energy day

Ski areas are reporting 5′ base and please come skiing – but, here in the valley, the rain is almost none stop. Neighboring town has announced that sand bags and sand are available in the parking lot of an Elementary School. I can say for certainty that one thing I have never had the pleasure to do is try and hold back flood waters with a sand bag. With any luck, I will get to miss out on the sand bag experience altogether.

Got a very nice sweat shirt for my birthday, I like sweat shirts because they are so comfortable, easy to get on and off and good enough for the barn and for Walmart. Received a very humorous email yesterday, pictures of people at Walmart. Hard to understand how people can dress ( or undress ) like that and still leave the confines of their own house. Looks like a lot of people simple feel like dressing down when they are headed for the big store.

Yes, my pickup won’t stop without this disgusting grinding sound. Removed the wheel ( it’s raining ) and removed the brake disc ( the wind is really blowing ). Not sure how I managed to drive with those brake shoe’s embedding themselves in the brake disc soooo seriously. Rats, need a complete brake job, the guy at Shucks is really helpful, I’m not use to having an auto parts guy that seems so knowledgeable. Looks like I will have a couple old brake disc to use as boat anchors. Should have pulled the pickup farther into the shop before I took the wheels off, now I can’t move the pickup and the plastic cover I put over to keep the rain off keeps blowing off.

Wish I had a wind generator up on top of the barn roof, I would be making a bunch of juice today. What I would really like to do is build my own wind generator. Anybody out there have a sure fire set of plans?

Well, I wash out my reusable furnace filter every month and today’s the day. New brakes and a clean air filter – it’s a big day for sure.  Don Ames
