Power Chuckle, Duct Cleaning and Pop Cans

Heating duct cleaning and rounding up pop cans

The duct cleaning crew was hard at work. A van truck, that looked like a uhaul, was parked in the driveway. The large vacuum cleaner in the back of the truck was humming away. The two man duct cleaning crew was excitedly going after a pop can that was stuck in the ducts. It would be the second pop can they would remove from the ducts that day. Duct cleaning can be particularly important for people that are sensitive to dust and other airborn particle’s. Most homeowners would be unpleasantly surprised to see the amount of dust, cobwebs, breakfast food, dog treats and varment droppings, etc. that can be removed from the heating ducts.

The duct cleaning worker used a mirror and a flashlight to show me the shiny surface of the elusive pop can. He promised, that no matter how long it took, he would remove that pop can and see that it got properly recycled. I wished them luck and went on my way.

Several days later, I returned to the residence to speak with the homeowner about further work that might need to be done. Of course, while I was there I asked how the duct cleaning had gone and whether or not they were able to get that pop can. The homowner was very impressed, “They wouldn’t go home until they got that pop can out of that duct.”
